Cooper turned 3 and we can't believe it. He had a great birthday - he is well loved as he received lots of gifts.

Chris and I got to go to the Orange Bowl with the Stanford Athletic department. We stayed at the swanky Fontainebleau hotel.

Here are the beautiful grounds. I have to admit it takes awhile to get used to the landscape of Arizona but after you are there you really do appreciate it's beauty.

Miraval - August

In August, I got to go on a spectacular trip with my mother-in-law to Miraval in Tucson, Arizona. If you ever have a chance to go, you should do it. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I hope to visit many many more times! Here I am on one of the challenge courses called "Swing and a Prayer".

I've been hoisted up and now all I have to do is let go for an awesome swing!
The equine experience was also great. It taught us about ourselves through the horses. Really powerful stuff!

Seattle Trip 2

We had a blast staying with our friends Ron and Kels in Seattle. We went out to a nice seafood restaurant on our last night and the food was amazing. I can still taste the parmesan crusted tilapia. Wish I had some more right about now! Here we are taming the Coop with the blackberry.

Seattle Trip

We had to take a sudden trip to Indiana as Chris' grandpa passed away. We made the most of it and saw lots of family and friends.

They had huge bears at the SF Zoo that Cooper thought were pretty neat. Kind of like looking out our back yard. :)

Dinner at the Rainforest Cafe was quite the experience. The animals and noises were a perfect end to our trip!

For Father's Day we took a trip to San Francisco. We checked out the zoo and Cooper loved all the animals.

A few weekends ago, my mom, her friend and I went to Sonoma for a cooking class. It was so much fun. Check out the stair case -it's asparagus!

Last weekend Uncle Mikey came to visit us.... unfortunately I don't have any evidence of his visit. But while he was here we did have a private wine tasting at our neighbor's cellar.

3 years ago (July 1st) - We were married at the Ridge Golf Club in Auburn, CA. What a great time we've had so far! We are looking forward to many more. Cheers! To celebrate this year we went to a nice French restaurant for some dinner and then saw the movie "The Proposal". It was a great night!

Well we are a little late on this post I know but better late than never right?
About a year ago our little Cooper was born. It's hard to believe that it was only a year ago we were in the hospital waiting to hold Cooper for the first time. He has come out strong as an ox -- you'd never know he was sick! We have loved every minute of having Cooper in our lives. Happy Birthday little man!

It's been awhile since we have had time to post so here are a few updates. Cooper got a new outfit from his Nana in the midwest and we thought it was too big for him. As you can tell it fits just perfectly. Who would have thought a 10 month old could fit into 24 mo clothes!
We tried to get some pictures of him but he just won't sit still these days.
He definitely has to have something to distract him otherwise pictures are not happening.

A few weekends ago it was 80+ degrees so we broke out the water gear and played outside on the grass.

Easter Sunday

We celebrated Easter with Brunch at Nana's house. Cooper missed the first part of the party because he was napping so that's why he has that "I just woke up" look.

Cooper had been practicing with Nana all week so he had it down! The only thing that threw him off was the grass. He had no idea what he was sitting in and he really didn't know what to think of it.

Cooper made his way, with the help of his mama, all the way over to his Easter surprise.

Happy Birthday Palmer!

It's really hard for us to imagine that Palmer actually does rest here and there especially now that he is 5 years old. Someone once told us that labs calm down after their 2nd birthday. Here are a few pictures of the Birthday Dog over the past year and "no" he hasn't slowed down yet.

Busy little bee....

Cooper has been keeping us busy lately. Now that he can crawl and pull up on everything you can't take your eyes off of him for 2 seconds... he'll have something in his mouth or be getting in to something he shouldn't.

He has been a little camera shy lately... blinking his eyes around the flash so there are a few funny pictures of half Cooper eyes.
He is still eating a lot. His favorite finger foods are sweet potatoes, kiwis, bananas, cheese, cheddar bunnies and puffins cereal.
The other day we were in Whole Foods and I wanted to get some good cheese. The purveyor helps us with some samples and Cooper opened his mouth wide to try. It was a really sharp cheese but he liked both kinds.

Mom -- the flash is blinding me!
He is still talking a little bit. He can say baba, dada and mama... and he loves to say mmmmm when he eats. It's pretty funny. We'll try to get that one on video for everyone to hear.

I know we are a little bit early but having a 10 month old -- you never know when you will have free time so here is our easter post! :)

Cooper is getting bigger and HEAVIER each day. He is crawling around like crazy now, pulling up on everything, and still getting teeth.

Yesterday we discovered 2 more teeth coming in for a total of 12. He has been a little bit grumpy lately and that is most likely why! Absolutely everything goes in to his mouth. Toys, blankets (he rips the blanket out of his mouth in hopes of getting some fuzz), crumbs.... anything he can get his hands on. You have to be quick or it's in the mouth. He was 10 months on April 1st. We can't believe how fast the time has gone. He is almost a year old.

March Madness

So the first part of March was a little chilly for us in California. We had to break out the cold weather gear for Cooper's walk the other day. Last week we had a 70 degree stretch but it's in the high 50's today and not as warm. The sun is shining though!

This is a tribute to Cooper's friend Melinda and Mary Lou. They have been teaching him how to say how big he is. You can see that dinner got a little messy and the shirt was ditched in the process. So how big are you Cooper?

9 months old

Our little baby boy is now a big 9 month old. We went to the doctor this week for his check up and here are his latest stats:

21 3/4 lbs - 70th percentile
29 3/4 inches - 90th percentile

He is turning into a long skinny munchkin who likes to wiggle and worm around. He wasn't very good at sitting still for 30 minutes in the doctor's office! The doctor said we are going to have our hands full. We can only imagine what he will be like when he can walk/run around. Sharon - I know you can relate!

Sorry we haven't blogged in awhile. We have been busy with work, friends, Cooper and Hawaii. Our friends Nick, Jessica and Annika came over for dinner a few weekends ago. Cooper and Annika had a good time playing before and after dinner.

Annika is 1 and Cooper is 9 months. We were trying so hard to get them to look at us and smile but no luck. Getting one to smile is hard enough!

At the end of the night Cooper and Annika put on their jammies. Jessica and Annika decided to give Cooper his bedtime bottle. We know he was loving all the girl attention.

Last weekend the adults headed to Hawaii for a little R and R. Here is the sunset view from dinner one night in Lahaina.

Relaxing in the cabanas. It was beautiful but a little chilly and very windy so there wasn't much swimming on this trip.

We took a car ride one day to check out the lava. This was the last eruption on the island of Maui.

Our outrigger canoe guide told us it happened 200 years ago. You can see that the lava field is quite extensive and covers many miles. Ahh... Hawaii. We'll be back!

Growing Fast...

Cooper spent last weekend with his grandparents and they wore him out! Here he is passed out on the floor. He didn't even make it to the crib.

Coop also popped another tooth -- that's 9! This one is in the lower back part of his mouth. I am sure more are coming because he is still chewing away.

He has been playing with Palmer more lately. Palmer has been tolerant.

He still loves his jungle gym toy. He rolls all over the house now. No crawling yet but he loves to roll.

Cooper has started to eat finger foods. His favorites: avocado, cheese, bagels, puffins, cheerios, and banana.

This weekend we are having some company over and going to lunch with a friend. Hopefully the rain holds off until tomorrow!

Last weekend Cooper turned 8 months old. He is growing so fast. He sits up all on his own now.

Right now his favorite thing to do is roll. He can roll across the entire floor. He loves to bang on things and make loud noises. He likes cords, ribbons and string.

He has started to eat more which has meant longer sleeping periods through the night. HOORAY! 7:30-5:30 is his typical night sleep.

He loves his new babysitter. His favorite thing about her is that she has an iPhone that plays music. Favorite singer - Michael Jackson. Favorite song- Thriller.

He is quite the dancer. We'll get that on video and upload it soon.

He is possibly getting some more teeth. He seems to be chewing on everything again - even the carpet. YUCK.

He got a new toy a few weeks back from one of Lindsay's collegues. It plays Old McDonald Had a Farm and it has all the animals with their respective sounds. He LOVES it. Especially the tractor and honking noises.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It is sunny and warm again here today - rain is coming tomorrow and we need it.
